ABOUT
The 3rd Generation Cabaret presents a musical story of a young Israeli singer-performer who immigrates to Berlin--her grandmother's birth place.
Provocative and satirical songs such as "Circumcision", "Anti Semites", "An allem sind die Juden Schuld" (“The Jews are to blame for everything”) as well as songs of Kurt Weill, Marlene Dietrich, Zarah Leander and the Yiddish classics “bei mir bistu shein”, “oyfen veg” are some of the titles of the provocative, satirical and at times personal songs with which the 3rd Generation Cabaret takes the audience to Berlin of the 1930’s and back into the present. Sung and narrated in English, German, Hebrew and Yiddish, the cabaret showcases a captivating story of immigration and identity, and provides a thought-provoking, yet humorous, and ultimately a seductive experience.
Quirky and humorous, alternating reverie and irony toward the German and the Jewish/Israeli traditions, the Third Generation Cabaret presents a mixture of originals and dusty diamonds from our century and the previous one.
The legendary jazz club B-flat in Berlin and the ID Festival 2016 were among the many venues where The 3rd Generation Cabaret has already performed. In 2018 the cabaret performed in Munich, Heidelberg, Dortmund and of course in Berlin.
